Caroline Wozniacki has notably not dropped a set in the US Open thus far and she looks a solid bet to get past Vera Zvonareva in the opening women’s semi final at Flushing Meadow. The Russian has reached her first semi-final this year and is a top 10 player but she really struggled to get through her quarter final and it is hard to think she is going to be up to beating the Dane, who is in tremendous form.
Vera believes that people are underestimating Wozniacki, commenting "I think Caroline's got enough experience right now. She's very mature for her age and I think a lot of people are underestimating her. She's going out there and she's doing her job very, very well."
Maria Sharapova never really got into it against Wozniacki mid-week and Dominica Cibulkova was swiftly despatched in the QF. This could be the Grand Slam title that the 20-year old richly deserves and Victor Chandler’s 2/5 for the match is a stand out price and one worth taking whilst it is available.
