Wiki suggests Haas could win while Simpson may struggle

The 2012 US PGA Tour starts this week with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course in Hawaii. The opening event of the season will be played in Kapalua on a Par 73 course that usually yields plenty of birdies and was won last year by Jonathan Byrd.

Disputing favouritism with most bookmakers is last seasons PGA Tour Money List runner-up Webb Simpson, however if a recent wiki posting on the American is to be believed he could well struggle this week. According to the information below January is not usually a good month for Webb.

JANUARY NOT FOR WEBB

During 2010 and 2011 Webb Simpson played in five tournaments during January and returned form figures of 77th, 33rd, 46th, 13th and Missed Cut suggesting the man from North Carolina takes a few events to get going.

On the other hand if you are looking for a player to go close to winning this week then 2011 FedEx Cup winner Bill Haas could be the man. This time according to a recent wiki posting (see below) it has been highlighted that Haas actually hits top form early in the season and an eight place finish in this event last year would back that up.

EARLY STARTER

Keep an eye out for Bill Haas during the month of January. Between 2009 and 2011 he contested eight events during the first month of the year, recording five top ten finishes and a victory.

So it has to be Bill Haas each-way on the evidence above at 21.00 with Ladbrokes, while Bet 365's offer of even money for him to finish inside the top ten may appeal to the big players, especially in a reduced field of only 28 players.

Remember if you have any information you think may help us to beat the bookmaker then feel free to add by posting some wiki content on Golf or indeed any other sport. It's really quite simple to do, just click on the 'w' to the left hand side of the relevant player/team, then login/register, add an e-mail and password and post away. Once verified it will appear on site.

Recommendation: Wiki suggests backing Bill Haas and opposing Webb Simpson
