Tottenham Set For Easy Win Against Shamrock Rovers

A rare competitive Anglo-Irish match sees Shamrock Rovers travel to White Hart Lane this week, Shamrock were surprise qualifiers for the group stage and have been rewarded with a great opportunity to impress here. It has been fifth years since an Irish club last played a competitive match in England and with Spurs drawing their last two matches in this competition 0-0, fans and neutrals will be hoping this doesn't end in yet another stalemate.

With this deemed Tottenham's easiest group stage match in the Europa League we could see more youngsters than ever included in the team, especially with Arsenal coming to Tottenham on Sunday for a crucial Premiership match. There could however be a start for Aaron Lennon who has recovered from a groin injury and needs the run out whilst Harry Kane and Roman Pavyluchenko should continue up front for Tottenham in this competition, neither have yet scored in it, whilst Jake Livermore, Tom Carroll, Andros Townsend and Yago Falque are all likely to be amongst the starters. Meanwhile for Shamrock Rovers there will be a return to White Hart Lane for former Spurs midfielder Rohan Ricketts who joined Spurs in 2002 from Arsenal. Since then both William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor have joined Spurs having played previously for Arsenal.

Spurs have never conceded a goal against Irish opposition at White Hart Lane and so far have a perfect defensive record in the Europa League after a 5-0 win at Hearts and two 0-0 draws following that game. Even with many fringe players involved Spurs should still have more than enough talent on the pitch to win this one comfortably and it should be another clean sheet for Tottenham so a bet on Spurs to win to nil looks the best call here, boosting the odds of Spurs winning the match by including the clean sheet.

Recommendation: BACK SPURS TO BEAT SHAMROCK ROVERS
