Time for Rupert given a winnable opportunity to get season back on track

Paul Webber has put Time for Rupert into a graduation chase at Newbury today in an attempt to get a win under his belt and his season back on track. Beaten twice this term already including finishing last in last months Betfair Chase, this line up of just four is not as strong and should be a chance to gain a win.

With Will Kennedy parting company with trainer Paul Webber, Time for Rupert will find someone new on his back. Dennis O’Reagen will be aboard this time and may find something else within his horse. Second in the Charlie Hall, Time for Rupert has yet to announce himself top class over fences, should he win this race, then he will almost certainly be moving on to the Argento Chase in January at Cheltenham.

Another to keep an eye out for today at Newbury comes a little earlier when Nicky Hendersons ERICHT contends the First Great Western Maiden Hurdle (1.25). Last seasons Cheltenham Champion Bumper favourite finished only sixth in the race but made a promising debut over hurdles at Cheltenham last month when third behind Steps To Freedom. With that run under his belt and Seven Barrows in flying form with hurdlers at present, Ericht is expected to add to the ever growing tally of winners this month

Recommendation: Time for Rupert to be back in the winners enclosure
