Greece can edge a tight looking 2014 World Cup Group G

Bookmakers have found it hard to separate the chances of Greece, Bosnia and Slovakia in what looks a tricky looking Group G, but we feel that Greece have enough talent at their disposal to come out on top and suggest taking the 3.00 currently on offer with Blue Square.

Greece's performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa got off to a bad start with a 2-0 defeat to South Korea and although they salvaged some pride with a victory over Nigeria and a plucky display in their loss to Argentina it was all too late and they returned home after the group stage.

No sooner had their 2010 World Cup ended than Greece replaced long time head coach Otto Rehhagel with Fernando Santos and he seems to have breathed a new sense of optimism into the Greece squad.

At the time of writing Greece sit proudly on top of their Euro 2012 qualifying group with four wins and two draws from their six matches so far, which is no mean feat when you consider the group includes Croatia as one of their rivals.

Slovakia look the biggest danger especially after their performance at the 2010 World Cup finals where they managed to beat Italy during the group stages and were then only defeated 2-1 by Holland in the last sixteen.

In our opinion Greece and Slovakia look to hold far better credentials than Bosnia and strongly advise keeping a look out for forecast betting nearer the starting time, but for now we'll nail our colours to Greece, although certainly not confidently.

Recommendation: Back Greece at 3.00 with Blue Square
