Goodwillie Makes First Start For Scotland Against Lithuania

A series of penalty claims late on against Czech Republic left Scotland feeling robbed on Saturday and left their dreams of reaching the Euro 2012 finals in tatters, they now have to win all remaining games and that includes Spain. This is certainly a chance to put Saturday's disappointment behind them against a team who have the same amount of points as Scotland but have played an extra game.

The sight of Darren Fletcher completing 90 minutes for Scotland for the first time this year will have been a big boost and he looks sure to start again with fellow midfielder Charlie Adam amongst the absentees for this match having picked up an injury. Also out are Craig Mackail-Smith who is also injured and both Kenny Miller and Scott Brown are suspended. Alan Hutton and Phil Bardsley have picked up knocks and they are doubts for the match whilst David goodwillie is in line for his first Scotland start whilst Steven Whittaker and Grant Hanley are both in contention after missing the game against Czech Republic.

Scotland have looked a better team in recent games and were unlucky against Czech Republic so it would be a surprise if they can't put home advantage to good effect against Lithuania despite missing some key players. Lithuania drew 0-0 at home to Liechtenstein on Friday and lost 2-0 to them away so that is an indication of their level suggesting the odds on a Scotland win are very fair.

Recommendation: BACK SCOTLAND TO BEAT LITHUANIA
