Portsmouth have suffered a recent defeat to their easterly South Coast rivals already this year when going down 3-1 at the Withdean in the Fa Cup. With Brighton bouncing from the opening day win against Doncaster in the new AMEX Stadium and their progress past Gillingham in the Carling Cup on Tuesday making it two from two, many will feel they have an good early season momentum built up already and come to Frogmore Road with a chance.
