One of the best bets of this weeks European matches looks to be Club Brugge from Belgium to beat Npower Championship side Birmingham City. Currently occupying second place in the Belgian Jupiler League, only a point behind Anderlecht, they really should have too much in all departments for the English side.
Club Brugge have opened up their Europa League campaign with two wins and one of those gives us a clear form-line from which to work when looking at the odds for this match. In the opening round of matches Birmingham City entertained last season's Europa League runners-up Braga and were ultimately outclassed in a 3-1 defeat. Just two weeks later Club Brugge travelled to Braga and left with all three points after a 2-1 victory.
Birmingham City have certainly picked up in recent weeks after a slow start to the season, but they have only managed one away win from five matches in the Npower Championship this season and that was at Nottingham Forest during the time they were floundering under Steve McLaren.
The Belgian side have secured four wins and a draw from their five domestic league home matches this season and strolled to victory when Slovenian side NK Maribor visited during the first round of Europa League Group H fixtures.
I rarely suggest taking odds-on unless it looks an outstanding bet and that to me is what the 1.91 with William Hill appears to be for a home victory in this match.
