Braga Will Be Very Tough Opponents For Birmingham

Birmingham are one of the few sides in recent years to juggle Championship football with a European campaign and are so far doing well with it but they have been handed a tough fixture against the team that knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League last season.

Chris Wood will continue in attack for Birmingham following his hat trick at the weekend against Millwall and he should be joined in attack by Adam Rooney. Gary Caldwell will continue to partner Liam Ridgewell at the heart of the defence following the departures of Roger Johnson and Scott Dann since last season. Braga will have a familar name up front, Nuno Gomes was signed as a free agent over the summer following his release from Benfica and he was in goalscoring form at the weekend.

There may be a temptation to think that Birmingham are a decent bet to get a result in this home fixture but this is a Championship side against a team who has regularly got to the latter stages of this tournament and is so far unbeaten domestically. Braga are a good side with come class players and they can win this match at what look quite generous odds.

Recommendation: BACK BRAGA TO BEAT BIRMINGHAM
