Tomas Berdych missed a fine chance to beat World Number One Novak Djokovic at the O2 Arena on Monday evening eventually losing out in a three set thriller that went on until the late hours of the night.
After Berdych took the first set 6-3 the Serbian had to dig deep to level the match at one set a piece, with the help of a few missed forehands from the Czech Republican. The London crowd were now hoping for a thrilling finale and they weren't to be disappointed.
Berdych held to love in the eleventh game to go 6-5 up and then after a double-fault from Djokovic was gifted a match point, however he failed to take his opportunity and Djokovic held serve and forced a final set tie-break, which he won easily.
Earlier in the day Andy Murray was beaten in straight sets by David Ferrer, with the Scot complaining of a groing injury. A decision will be made on Tuesday as to whether he'll have to pull out of the tournament.
Bookmakers odds suggest a Federer v Djokovic final is the most likely ending to this tournament with Federer shading favouritism at 2.40 with Stan James. Novak Djokovic can be backed at 3.25 with Boylesports, while Rafael Nadal, who struggled in beating Mardy Fish a 6.50 shot.
